What is Ginsenosides?
Ginsenosides (GS) are the main pharmacologically active components of ginseng. To date, more than 40 types of ginsenoside monomers have been isolated from ginseng plants. The most extensively studied ginsenosides include Rb1, Rg1, Rg3, Re, Rd, and Rh1.
Ginsenosides have protective effects on various cardiovascular diseases, such as ischemic heart disease, arrhythmia, and heart failure.
Protecting the Myocardium: Directly protects ischemic and hypoxic myocardial cells by reducing myocardial oxygen consumption, lowering energy expenditure, and increasing oxygen utilization. It also improves the metabolism of ischemic myocardium and reduces lactic acid production.
Cardiotonic Effect: Enhances cardiac output, cardiac index, and stroke index while improving cardiac function in dogs with cardiogenic shock. Additionally, it increases blood oxygen levels and enhances myocardial oxygen supply.
Antioxidant and Improved Hemorheology: Provides protective effects on cardiac hemodynamics by reducing coronary vascular resistance, increasing coronary artery flow, and lowering myocardial malondialdehyde (MDA) levels while boosting superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity.
Anti-Atherosclerosis: Plays a significant role in the clinical prevention and treatment of chronic hyperlipidemia and atherosclerosis (AS).
Anti-Arrhythmia: Helps stabilize heart rate.
What is Dilong?
Earth Dragon (Dilong), also known as White-Necked Earthworm or Tu Long, is a widely diverse species with over 200 types found in China. It is one of the important traditional Chinese medicinal materials.
It activates the body’s fibrinolytic system through direct and indirect pathways, reducing excessive fibrinogen levels in plasma. At the same time, it effectively inhibits platelet aggregation, preventing thrombus formation, lowering blood viscosity, improving hemorheology, and enhancing microcirculation in blood vessels. These effects contribute to the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.
Thrombolysis: Dilong directly degrades fibrin and fibrinogen. Its specific affinity for fibrin allows it to hydrolyze both plasminogen-rich fibrin and fibrin without plasminogen. Additionally, it can directly hydrolyze fibrinogen into fibrin, thereby dissolving blood clots.
Anticoagulation: Dilong stimulates vascular endothelial cells to release tissue plasminogen activator (t-PA), enhancing t-PA activity, promoting the hydrolysis of coagulation factor I, and inhibiting platelet aggregation. Furthermore, it prevents the increase of intracellular [Ca2+] levels in platelets and the phosphorylation of JNK1, suppressing the expression of platelet phosphatidylserine (Ps), thereby inhibiting platelet activation.
Improvement of Hemorheology: Dilong counteracts abnormal blood rheology by reducing whole blood viscosity, plasma viscosity, hematocrit, red blood cell aggregation index, and erythrocyte sedimentation rate.
Case Study
An 80-year-old retired teacher was diagnosed in September 2024 with a malignant tumor between the intestines and bladder, leading to severe intestinal blockage and extreme difficulty in passing stool. The hospital installed an intestinal stent, but it failed to improve bowel movements due to impaired intestinal motility. After returning home, the patient experienced irregular bowel movements, spending 1-2 hours in the restroom each time. The abdomen became bloated and hard, urine appeared cloudy, energy levels dropped drastically, and appetite was completely lost. The patient hesitated to undergo surgery or chemotherapy due to concerns about side effects and also avoided taking prescribed Western medicine. Find out more
By the end of December, the patient developed swelling in the lower limbs, which initially started in the feet. By late January, the swelling extended to the lower legs, and by mid-February, it had spread halfway up the thighs. Upon researching, it was found that edema is often related to heart and kidney function. The patient also had coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, and cerebrovascular issues, so treatment focused on improving blood circulation.
Effects of Ginseng Earthworm Tablets Candy
- Took Ginseng Earthworm Tablets daily and resumed taking Astaxanthin to enhance cardiovascular function and promote blood circulation.
- After 8 days of taking the first bottle: Swelling reduced by half, visible muscle depressions appeared in the knees and feet, and urination increased.
- Continued use led to complete recovery from swelling.
Follow-up Treatment
The patient continued taking Turmeric Oral Liquid, Astaxanthin Wild Cherry Gel Candy, Maitake And Agaricus Blazei Tablet, and Ginseng Earthworm Tablets Candy, further improving overall health.
